The Umbrella library has hundreds of books, videos, research and current information on all areas of related to children, child care and the Early Childhood profession including government policies, human resources, management, child care philosophies, fundraising and board development.

There are resources on all ages of children from infants and toddlers to school age. We have many, many books on activities, nutrition, nature and the environment, and curriculum planning.

There are books on science, math, developmentally appropriate play, inclusion and special needs, as well as management and human resources.

Our Philosophies section has resources on emergent curriculum, observation and documentation, as well as early learning environments and designs.
 

In addition, we have a large selection of children’s books available for loan. Here’s a brief list of some of the sections in the library:

We also have puppets, games, puzzles, DVD’s and curriculum kits available for loan.

There is no charge to borrow resources from our resource centre!

DID YOU KNOW?? – IS YOUR CENTRE AN UMBRELLA MEMBER?
Staff of any Umbrella member centre may visit Umbrella and borrow resources.
Just be sure to sign them out!
